Ron Peltola

watercolor artist

Ron Peltola was born and raised in Seattle, where he worked for 30 years as an accountant. Ron took his first watercolor painting class at the age of 50, attending the Highline Community College’s evening life-long-learners program for seniors. He also took several watercolor workshops at the Daniel Smith art supply store in Seattle.

Ron and his lovely wife Barbara moved to Toledo in 2003. Barbara had spent part of her childhood in Toledo and they both love retirement in Toledo where they feel more in tune with nature than in the big city. Ron began watercolor painting at the Toledo Senior Center in 2004 and has several wonderful watercolor friends with whom he paints once a week. They share information, critique work, admire art and have lots of fun.

“Our goal is to create beauty, together. Sometimes we make mud, but we do that together too. Everyone is an artist at creating beautiful relationships. I read somewhere that beauty will save the world. Was that in the accounting manual?”
