Artist's statement:

 

   This was my view of our two-party system from 2001-2008.

   The Republicans speak (or yell) with one voice. Modeled after Tom Delay of Texas, my little red-faced guy wears his religion on his lapel as long as it works in his favor.

   The Democrats are not "United," they are "Untied." Wearing a blue-collar T-shirt, they are disorganized to the point of being unable to accomplish anything.
